I’m a born and raised Tulsan who has loved weddings for as long as I can remember. Throughout my childhood, I had many differing aspirations for what I wanted to be when I grew up, but my love for weddings never wavered. And ultimately that love triumphed over every other career aspiration.
Though my love for weddings has been a constant in my life, my love for the wedding industry was an acquired taste. In high school I worked for a local photographer where I got my first taste of working with brides and I loved it. In college I worked for a couple of bridal gown boutiques helping brides select the dress and I loved it. I loved all this wedding stuff so much that I enrolled in the nearest wedding consultant training program put on in Dallas by the Association of Certified Professional Wedding Consultants. I completed that course in April 2004. The next month I did my first wedding as a Wedding Coordinator and… I hated it. That’s the God’s honest truth. I convinced myself that I had selected the wrong career path. So, I went back to college and studied Business Management in the hopes that I would figure something else out.
While completing college, I had multiple friends and family who asked me to coordinate their wedding. Of course, I couldn’t say no to them. But, much to my surprise, the second wedding was easier than the first. And the third wedding was even… fun? I couldn’t believe it. Nonetheless, the job grew on me over those three years. And, in 2007, right after graduating from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, I officially started Erica Weddings.
Over the next several years, while working directly with some amazing clients and getting to be a part of some extraordinary weddings, I worked to build and train up a team of talented wedding consultants. I sought out a group of ladies that shared my love of this industry and, in particular, this company. I worked tirelessly to select a team that not only shared my values as the owner but that also could be trusted to treat every single client and vendor the way I would treat them. I am so proud of what this company has become and I’m honored to have such an amazing team of consultants working for me.
Since being in business, the team at Erica Weddings has successfully planned/coordinated over 200 weddings. With each client, our love for weddings and the wedding industry grows more and more. We consider it an enormous privilege to do what we do: to be included in our clients’ special day in the most extraordinary way. We are honored to call our brides our friends and we hope we can do the same with you. Contact us today so we can get started!
